Work Life

Everyone at Glasallt Fawr works and has an individual workshop programme.

Each task undertaken is an important contribution to the work of the centre. Through work, everyone gains dignity and a sense of self worth. Everyone is encouraged to help in the houses and the laundry and kitchens are an important working experience. Glasallt Fawr has hens and chickens,goats,pigs and sheep as well as smaller animals to care for, thus giving the residents an awareness of the rhythm and meaningfulness of all life.

The gardens and grounds are extensive and the whole process of growing fruit and vegetables can be experienced from sowing, harvesting to the dinner table. Our work reflects our concern for the environment
For those less keen on the outdoor life there is cooking, baking, art and crafts and weaving but everyone has the opportunity to do these if they wish.
